Great Expectations #4: Just who exactly was Charles Dickens?

Charles Dickens is probably one of the best known and best beloved novelists in all of England.  Many say that Dickens was to the novel what Shakespeare was to plays.  But don't take my word for it.  Watch this!

Dickens was particularly conscious about the vast differences in the lives of the upper, middle, and lower classes.  He wrote based on his experiences and worked hard to raise the social conscience of his readers.  As a boy, his father was imprisoned in a debtor's prison for being too poor!  His mother insisted on joining him and she took Charles and his siblings to live with is father in prison.  To see what it must have been like, you can watch this:

Now let's have some fun!   Complete the Charles Dickens Webquest. You will need to print the webquest page so you may record your responses.   Use the links in the webquest to find your answers.  When you are finished, turn it in to me.  Don't misplace it; it's worth one test grade!  And don't forget to play the two games at the bottom of the webquest.  They're quite fun!
