Red Badge of Courage #3: Photography

Mathew Brady - Civil War photographer (civilwar-pictures.com)
The U.S. Civil War is considered to be the first "modern" war.  This is due to the widespread use of "mechanized and electrified devices like railroad trains, aerial observation, telegraph, photography, torpedoes, mines, ironclad ships, and rifles."  ("Æ™ Aeragon")  In fact, the Civil War was the first war in which battles were photographed!

I'd like you to go to History.com's "Faces of the Civil War" gallery of photographs.  Please view and read the descriptions of all 28 slides.  Then, post 5 things that you learned or surprised you while viewing those pictures.
